Kindly 'saying no'...

I’ve always been a YES person, in spite of headlining every New Year’s resolution list with “learning to say NO guilt-free”!

I’m relishing in the special bubble of a new born baby at the moment. The combination of sheer exhaustion, permanently in pj-mode and the constant needs of a little person forces me to have to say NO.

And wow, it feels good. It’s not that I don’t appreciate my lovely, caring friends. It’s not that I am not grateful to be self employed with clients that need me. But to pause, hide, and take my foot off the accelerator, free myself of the guilt of not achieving my daily to-do list and keeping everyone else happy, is a secret delight.

My message to take from this time, is to ‘delight in hibernation’. Go and sit behind a sunny window, walk alone in the autumn colours or indulge in a home made hot chocolate and remember, when kindly saying no so you can have some you-time, it' OK.
